Sewage & Category-3 Water Cleanup

A sewage backup or a flood from an outside source is Category-3 water — it carries bacteria and pathogens and is not a mop-and-bucket job. Porous materials it touches generally can’t be saved, and the area has to be disinfected, not just dried.

Sewage & Category-3 Water Cleanup — the problem we remediate

The problem

Contain, Remove, Disinfect

We contain the affected area, remove and bag contaminated porous materials, and disinfect the structure that remains before drying it. The goal is a space that’s safe to occupy, verified — not just dry.

The approach

Why Category-3 Is Different

Clean-water drying saves most materials; Category-3 does not, because the contamination soaks in. Treating a sewage loss like an ordinary flood is how people end up with lingering odor and health risk. We handle it to standard.

Water travels down. The leak is on one floor — the damage is on every floor below it, which is why we map the moisture, not just the wet spot.

How it works

A Documented Process, First Look to Verified Result.

  1. 01 Assessment & Moisture Mapping Moisture meters and thermal imaging find the full reach of the water.
  2. 02 Water Extraction Standing water removed fast with truck-mounted and portable units.
  3. 03 Structural Drying Air movers and commercial dehumidifiers dry framing, subfloor, and drywall.
  4. 04 Moisture Verification Daily readings until materials reach a documented dry standard.
  5. 05 Repairs & Restoration Replace what can’t be saved and return the space to normal.

Common questions

Before You Call, the Honest Answers.

Is a sewage backup a health hazard?

Yes — it can carry bacteria and viruses, so it should be handled with proper containment and protective equipment, not cleaned up casually. Keep people and pets out of the area and call.

Can my carpet and drywall be saved?

Porous materials soaked by Category-3 water usually can’t be safely restored and are removed. Hard, non-porous surfaces are cleaned and disinfected. The assessment specifies what stays and what goes.

Do you handle the disinfection, not just the water?

Yes. Removal and drying are only part of it — disinfection of the affected structure is what makes the space safe again, and it’s included.
